Jacob was born and raised in Washington and attended the University of Washington where he majored in History, with a focus on the history of science.. Jacob graduated from Seattle University School of Law. During his second summer at Seattle University, Jacob was a Rule 9 intern with the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
